WHAT?

What is a trailer?

Trailers are a series of selected shots from the film which is being advertised. Trailers are used to inform potential audience members about a certain film with the intention of encouraging people to see the film at the cinema meaning shots for the trailer are often drawn from the most exciting, funny, or key parts of the film while still avoiding spoilers. However sometimes this is done badly and the best parts of the film are shown within the trailer, making the film itself less enjoyable and a bit of a let down in comparison.

Trailers are a very important part of the advertising and marketing element of a successful film as they spread awareness of the film in order to gain a wider audience.

Here is a mind map I have done on initial thoughts and ideas about film trailers and what they include.
