After discussing all of our ideas in terms of script, Scarlet and I have come to the conclusion that we think it would be most affective to have a doctor diagnosis of our main protagonist. This will help the audience understand why the main protagonist is running away and what illness she is suffering from. After having watched and researched main trailers we found that voiceovers were frequently used to inform the audience of something major in the plot (which is our function for it) or to in fact explain the basic plot. This has also helped to make the trailer seem less of a film opening.
Voiceover of the Doctors diagnosis:
[This voiceover is to be read slowly, confidently and sympathetically over a montage of shots.]
Receptionist: Alice Sharpe? Dr Potter will see you now.
Doctor Potter: Take a seat Alice, I'm afraid we've got some bad news...We have received your test results and they appear to show that the structure of your brain, particularly in your temporal lobe, which plays a key role in the formation of long term memory, has become increasingly damaged. We are unsure as to how long this has been going on for, as of yet. However, I am afraid this will dramatically affect your ability to remember, understand and communicate. At the moment you are stable but unfortunately this stability will gradually decline.
