MUSIC RESEARCH:

After searching for some music inspiration for our trailer these are the songs that most appeal to me at the moment.

 Say
John Mayer

This song, both myself and Scarlet have discussed about a strong possibility to feature in our trailer. I think this is a real potential song to include more due to the lyrics of the song and calm rythem than anything else.
The lyrics are particularly fitting to the story line; the lyrics more fitting in the second verse "Walkin' like a one man army, Fightin with the shadows in your head" (1minute 6seconds in) - This gives the impression of someone struggling internally, meaning with themselves and their minds, which could link well to the mental illness that the protagonist is facing and suggesting that she is fighting with her mind.
"Knowin' you'd be better off instead" (1minute 23seconds in) - This would be the link to the romance element to our film. The idea that the ill protagonist feels she is an inconvenience and in the way because of her illness and doesn't believe that her lover should be tied down and that they should separate for his own good.
The fact that these useful quotations are throughout the second verse makes me feel that possibly we could just include that verse and the chorus once maybe, to save time and have time for other relevant music as well if we feel that that would be more effective.

Sad Song
  We The Kings
Before you think I just typed 'Sad Song' into YouTube that is not what I did, ha ha. I actually just stumbled across this by accident, not knowing the song or the band. I think this song has a really good tempo for our trailer, not too fast and not too slow, it also seems quite sad but with the faster tempo towards the chorus it almost takes the sadness slightly away because the upbeat tune makes you feel happier almost.
It reminds me of the kind of soundtrack to Fault In Our Stars which is similar to our film plot in the terminal illness.
I like the link that can be made with some of the lyrics in this song as well; such as 'Stop time right here in the moonlight because I don't ever wanna close my eyes' (37 seconds in) which I feel can link to the idea that the protagonist wants time to stop so her and her lover can continue to live happily together and that the 'don't ever wanna close my eyes' is in reference to her dying.
'It's like I'm leaving all my pasts in silhouettes up on the wall' (1 minute 26 seconds in) I think that this lyric can clearly link to the protagonists horrible past, stuck in hospitals and the idea of them being on the wall is that they don't bother her anymore.
'With you I'm a beautiful mess' (1 minute 32 seconds in) is as if the protagonist is made to feel beautiful with her lover, the mess being the illness while the 'standing hand in hand with all our fears upon the edge' being in reference to their fears of the future and of what could happen.
Although I feel that some of the lyrics from the verses are really fitting to the plot line for our film, I also feel that the chorus is too romantic and 'cheesy' which is very much what I want to avoid. If there is a way for us to incorporate the lyrics from the verses without the chorus I think we should definitely consider that.

The Killers
The Killers really appeal to me to use in my trailer, just because of the roughness of their voices and how they can do some very relate-able songs. I think their tone, if found the right song, can fit perfectly. I am still currently looking for a relevant Killers song to possibly include.

Afire Love
Ed Sheeran
I have included this Ed Sheeran lyrics video as, although I don't think that it would be fitting for the trailer, I do think that it would fit well at some point during the film. I just don't think that the song has the right pace. Possibly, if I can find a more slowed down version it may work for the trailer, however he song also seems to be more from the males viewpoint which is why it wouldn't work for the trailer as the focus is on the female protagonist.

The Vow
Trailer
I have included this trailer because I feel like the music chosen for this trailer is really well done. It starts of happy like the trailer, before stopping and getting very dramatic. It always fits the emotions that the trailer are trying to portray to the audience which is so important and that is my main aim in terms of music for my trailer.

I think that having an element of 'feel good' music is important to have in the trailer as although our film involves serious, sad issues, there needs to be many elements of joys as well to portray the romance and to also not make the audience too distressed as that is not our aim. However due to the content of the film and the sad scenes there must be an element of that shown through the scenes and the music to show the audience what it is about and also to awaken the audiences emotions.
