AUDIENCE PROFILE:

From analysing my research which I have collected through my surveys; my target audience is primarily females (aged 16-26). However this doesn't mean that males and females of other ages won't watch the film. The romance/drama genre is aimed towards a niche audience however the plot is one which everyone can watch and enjoy. My target audience stretches to people in their mid twenties because of themes of mental health that will be involved.

  Amelia is a 17 year old, studying Dance, Drama and English at college and hoping to pursue a career in dance. She enjoys dancing, acting, singing and playing sport and is often going to the cinema with her friends. She spends a lot of time being social and focusing on performances she is taking part on, but likes to relax at home watching a film. She has a wide collection of Comedy DVDs, her favourite films being The Notebook and all Harry Potter films and is always looking for great new films which she watches through online downloads or Netflix.

I think that Amelia fits the target audience for our film as she loves... and I believe our plot of a tragic love story would really intrigue her and the mental illness theme would interest her as she would enjoy learning more about it through the film. I also know from my research that she has watched most of the films I have taken influence from and thoroughly enjoyed them. Also knowing that she is enthusiastic with performing and acting, I think that our film would fit her interests as she can relate to the characters and imagine what it would be like from their perspectives as they are of similar ages.
